Golf is not a game of perfect shots. As a result, most players will often find themselves hitting out of hazards at some point in their golfing career. So, different types of shots have been developed to get out of such undesired situations. One such shot is the hammer shot.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A 3 or 4 Iron
  1. Step 1

    Choke up on the club.

  2. Step 2

Angle the club face so that it is nearly a flat surface. Your hands should be well out in front of the rest of your body to do so.

  3. Step 3

Pull the club back in a straight line, rather than a normal swing plane.

  4. Step 4

Ram the clubface back into the ball, like a polo mallet or a hammer striking a nail. If done correctly, the ball should maintain a low height and roll for a great distance.
