Not all models are stick thin twigs walking down the runway. In fact, nowadays, there are lots of larger women who confidently model clothing. Large size models inspire real women that they, too, are beautiful.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Good skin
  • Be photogenic
  • A curvy but healthy body
  • Classes
  • Agent
  • Zed card
  1. Step 1

Work on getting your skin clear, smooth and as wrinkle free as possible. Exercise to keep your body curvy but toned and healthy. Maintain your hair and keep it healthy as well.

  2. Step 2

Enroll in some modeling and acting classes. Modeling classes will teach you the basics of walking the runway, working the camera and taking care of your image. Acting will give some more personable skills, help your speaking technique and expose you to another side of the entertainment industry.

  3. Step 3

Find a good zed card photographer. Ask to look over their portfolios and see if they've shot plus size models before. Explain to them what you're looking for and expecting from the shoot. Set up a date and have your photos shot. Get them developed and pick a variety of looks for your zed card. Get your zed cards printed.

  4. Step 4

Find agents that represent plus size models. Many of these can be found in various agency guides online as well as in print such as the Ross Reports or Model's Guide to Agents. Submit your zed card and a cover letter to those who represent your type. Wait for responses and set up meetings. Don't sign a contract or make a decision until you've met with a couple different agencies.

  5. Step 5

Go to the auditions that your agent sends you out on. Also, approach local business owners and ask if they're seeking plus size models to represent their brand. Even offer your time for free, at first, to build up your portfolio. Stay focused and determined and you'll accomplish what you seek from your career. Good luck!
