If you have a food blog and are interested in sharing your blog and meeting others who are passionate about food, you’ll want to join the the Featured Publisher Program at Foodbuzz, a large online community of foodies and food bloggers excited about food, cooking, and the culinary arts.

Since joining Foodbuzz as a Featured Publisher, there’s been a noticeable jump in traffic on my food blog as well as many new readers.

Best of all, through Foodbuzz we’ve been fortunate enough to communicate with a wide variety of interesting people who are equally passionate about food, as well as to find and contribute reviews of restaurants in our local area and around the world.

Foodbuzz is also an excellent way for food bloggers and foodies to conveniently subscribe to and follow the writing of their favorite bloggers as well as to share and make comments on their favorite posts.

Another great Foodbuzz feature is their growing collection of recipes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • High quality foodie blog
  • A valid e-mail address
  1. Step 1

How Will Joining the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher Program Benefit My Food Blog:

Foodbuzz has been very good for us and driven the right traffic (foodies like us!) to our site. Best of all, signing up as a Featured Publisher is 100% free of charge.

Some of the advantages of the Featured Publisher program are:

    1. Every time you create a new food blog post on your blog, a link to it and a brief summary of the post will *automatically* appear a few hours later on the popular Foodbuzz site, thus *effortlessly* driving more targeted traffic to your blog.

Because Foodbuzz is like Myspace for foodies with a growing member created restaurant review area, the site attracts people who are extremely passionate about food...from regular restaurant goers, to home cooks, to fellow food bloggers looking for inspiration for their own posts.

As a result, we've found Foodbuzz to be an excellent way to generate positive electronic word of mouth.

  2. Step 2

    What's the Catch?

The main obligation Foodbuzz Featured Publishers have is to place a small Foodbuzz "badge" in the top portion of their quality food blog which links back to the profile you've created on Foodbuzz so people can find out more about your blog.

After your blog is accepted into the program, the folks at Foodbuzz will e-mail you information about how to get your Featured Publisher badge so you can easily add it to your blog site.

By the way, If you'd like to see what the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher badge looks like in advance, you can visit my food and cooking blog, Hugging the Coast, which is listed in the Resources Section below.

I've placed my Foodbuzz Featured Publisher badge in the top left hand corner sidebar area of the blog. The badge I use is a tasteful 120 x 60 pixels so I've found it loads very quickly.

  3. Step 3

How Can Foodbuzz Help Me Make Money From My Food Blog?

After your blog has been accepted into the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher Program and you've placed your required Foodbuzz badge into the top area of your weblog, Foodbuzz should send you information about how to join their banner ad program a few weeks later in their Featured Publisher E-newsletter.

Or just contact Shannon or any of the other friendly folk at Foodbuzz and they'll be happy to help.

By the way, if you'd like to see what the Foodbuzz advertising banner looks like in advance, you can visit my food and cooking blog, Hugging the Coast, which is listed in the Resources Section below.

The ad banner comes in several different sizes so if you become a Featured Publisher and later decide to join their Banner Ad Program too, you can pick a size that works with the look and feel of your blog.

  4. Step 4

So How Do I Join Foodbuzz as a Featured Publisher?

Since the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher program is not yet open to the general public, feel free to use our referral link at:

    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=PHmE_2beDgRu9lXCecP7ezkA_3d_3d

and fill out the very short form so that the folks at Foodbuzz can e-mail you all the details you'll want to know.

(You'll have to cut and paste the above web address into your browser bar as eHow doesn't allow clickable links within this part of the article...or, just click on the link: Find Out More About Joining Foodbuzz in the Resource Section below.)

BTW, If you liked this eHow article and found it useful, feel free to mention *HuggingtheCoast.Com* as your referral if you decide to find out more about joining so I can get credit for telling you about Foodbuzz. Of course, whether you choose to mention me or not is completely up to you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Everything mentioned in this eHow article is accurate to the best of my knowledge as of the day I wrote it (6/20/08). However, keep in mind that program details might possibly change in the future, so it's important to remember that any description of the Foodbuzz Featured Publishing Program you get from the folks at Foodbuzz will be more up-to-date and comprehensive than the details I provide here.
  • However, I will do my best to keep this article updated and will mark the date I added new information in this section when I do. :)
