How to Wrap Drum Sticks
Nothing interrupts a great drum session like losing your grip on your drumstick. While it's usually fairly easy to keep a grip on your stick, they can have a tendency to get slick after you build up some sweat from playing. When this happens they can go flying out of your hand. One way to counteract this is to wrap your drumsticks. There are several brands of drumstick wrap on the market, and wrapping your sticks is an easy process that shouldn't need to be repeated too often.

How to Wrap Drumsticks
-
1
Unroll the drumstick wrap.
-
2
Remove the plastic covering that is used to protect the drumstick wrapping. This should not be left on, as it will make the stick even slicker, defeating the purpose.
-
-
3
Remove the tab on one end of the roll to expose a sticky surface that will allow the wrap to cling to the stick.
-
4
Start at the butt of the drumstick and begin rolling the wrap around the stick. As you are doing this you will notice that there are grooves that will align the wrapping. Follow these grooves as you go.

5
Wrap the stick until you run out of wrapping. When you do, remove the tab on the other end of the wrap to expose the sticky surface.

Tips & Warnings
If you can't get your hands on drumstick wrap, or do not want to spend the money, you can use tennis racket wrap.
If rolled on all the way the wrap will come to about the halfway point of the stick. If you do not wish to have it go this high, simply cut the wrap with some scissors at the point you wish to stop wrapping. You may wish to do this if you play a lot of rimshots, as this will eat up the wrap.
