A basket full of carrots makes a great centerpiece for an Easter buffet table. Make double duty of the centerpiece when you wrap the silverware to look like carrots. Making carrot silverware holders is the perfect job for your little helpers to do while you cook an Easter feast. Have an older child organize the project and direct the little ones while they work.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Orange dinner napkins
  • Dark green pipe cleaners
  • Light green pipe cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Green plastic silverware
  • Large basket

Step1
Keep each napkin folded as it has come from the manufacturer. Fold each napkin in half to form a rectangle. Then crease the fold.
Step2
Take the bottom right corner of the napkin and bring it up so that the right side of the napkin is parallel with the top of the rectangle and forms a triangle. Then crease the fold.
Step3
Lay one fork, knife and spoon diagonally on the left side of the napkin. Keep the ends of the silverware on the napkin. Wrap the left corner around the base of the silverware, then roll the silverware up in the napkin to form the carrot.
Step4
Wrap one dark green and one light green pipe cleaner around the neck of the silverware to secure the napkin in place. Twist the pipe cleaners tightly. Trim off the tips of the pipe cleaners so they are just a bit longer than the silverware.
Step5
Place all of the carrot silverware holders in a basket. Set the basket in the center of your table as a centerpiece or at the end of the buffet serving line.
