Participate in the Christmas Parade

Step1
Decorate a Christmas float with shiny garland, a fully dressed Christmas tree, fake snow and even a snowman made of large crunched up paper balls. Add Christmas lights by including a small generator on your float.
Step2
Create an area of the float with warmth in mind. Make a cardboard building or tree that can also serve as a windbreak for anyone riding on the float.
Step3
Play Christmas music on the float, or get a group of carollers together to sing Christmas tunes on the float.
Step4
Wear the decorations. Wrap a shiny shawl of garland around your neck, and to fit in with the theme of your Christmas float.
Step5
Pass out Christmas favorites like candy canes, miniature stockings stuffed with peppermint candies, gold chocolate-filled coins or even bags of fake coal (usually some kind of candy).
Step6
Dress warm if you live in a cool climate. Hats, gloves and scarves are a nice touch if there isn't snow on the ground and it's not that cold. They still represent winter and the Christmas season.
Step7
Bring lots of hot chocolate and coffee in an insulated thermos to stay warm if it's cold outside.

Watch a Christmas Parade

Step1
Get there early to find a good spot to sit. Unlike a summer parade, you may want to find an area that gets lots of sun to keep everyone warm during the parade. If the parade is popular or national tradition, arrive early to find or save your spot.
Step2
Bring lawn or portable chairs. Pack blankets, warm hats, gloves and boots if the Christmas parade is on a cold day.
Step3
Bring a camera, if permitted to cherish the memories for years to come. Make a thermos of hot chocolate or coffee to keep you warm during the parade.
Step4
Give the kids a Christmas stocking to use as a candy bag.
