Send a spooky greeting to your favorite Halloween friend. Pop up cards are simple to make and fun to receive. Make this Halloween greeting card from simple supplies that you will find at home in your stash of paper crafting supplies. Plan to spend one hour or less to create this spooky greeting.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Card stock
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Double stick tape or glue stick
  • Googly eyes
Step1
Measure and cut a piece of black card stock to measure 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. Fold the paper in half to form a small card and then crease the fold line.
Step2
Mark four spots on the fold where you will cut the card to make the pop up supports. Make a mark on the fold at the following increments, 1 1/2, 2, 3 1/2 and 4 inches.
Step3
Use scissors to make a 1 inch cut at each of the markings on the fold. Fold both of the flaps toward the right side of the card.
Step4
Open the card. Press the flaps so that they pop up on the inside of the card. Close the card, keeping the flaps on the inside, to make the crease lines in the flaps.
Step5
Draw and cut two ghosts from a piece of white card stock. Make the ghosts small enough to fit inside the card, approximately 1 inch wide by 2 inches tall. Glue googly eyes to the ghosts.
Step6
Turn the card so that the opening is facing you, and open it. Attach the ghosts to the vertical portion of the pop up flap with a piece of double stick tape. Write a message on the card with a white or silver pen.
Step7
Cut a piece of orange card stock to measure 8 3/4 by 5 3/4 inches. Glue or tape the orange card stock to the outside of the card. Do not apply adhesive to the area surrounding the pop up flaps.
