How to Make a Loop Using Round Nose Pliers

When you make jewelry, you'll often fashion your creations from beads and wire. If you don't know how to make a wire loop with round nose pliers, you need to learn. This is a basic skill for anyone who wants to design their own jewelry pieces.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Wire
• Round nose pliers
• Curved nose pliers
• Bead
• Wire cutter

1. Hold the wire so that its mouth centers about 1/2 inch from the end of the wire. The feed should be on the left and the end on the right of you.

2. Twist your wrist toward the left. Make it enough of a turn so the end of the wire goes over the feed end and points toward the ground.

3. Remove the round nose pliers from the partial loop and turn the wire over. Reinsert the pliers so that it holds the top feed end in the partial loop.

4. Use a curved nose plier to grasp the end of the wire and wrap it around the feed. This forms a loop. Run a bead down the feed wire and let it rest atop the newly created loop.

5. Grasp the end of the feed wire that comes out of the bead with the jaws of the round nose pliers. You make another loop around the nose of the round nose pliers while you butt the pliers 2 wire widths from the bead. Use your free hand to wrap the feed end tightly around the wire coming out of the bead. Make two loops with the wire.

6. Clip the feed end close the wrap. Your loop created over the round nose pliers is complete.
