It takes only a few moments to make a lavender bag that has so many uses you may want to make several. Lavender can promote relaxation and sleep, make your dresser drawers smell fresh and can even discourage insects from invading your cupboards.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dried lavender
  • Scissors
  • Sturdy cotton fabric or fine netting
  • Narrow ribbon
  1. Step 1

Remove any stems from the dried lavender. Cut the fabric or netting in a square measuring approximately 12" by 15". Any sturdy cotton fabric works well for a lavender bag. You can leave the fabric as is, but if you want to prevent the edges from unraveling, hand or machine stitch around the edges, or cut it with pinking shears.

  2. Step 2

Place a handful of dried lavender in the center of the fabric.

  3. Step 3

Bunch the fabric around the lavender and tie a ribbon around the top. If you plan to use the lavender bag in the bath, be sure the ribbon is long enough to tie around the faucet and hang down into the water.

Tips & Warnings
  • Netting is a great choice for fabric bags, especially if you plan to use them in the bath. Select a fine net so that the lavender won't escape, or use a double layer of netting.
