How to Make a Good Impression on Girls

Meeting a girl for the first time can be intimidating, but you can make a good initial impression if you relax, maintain your cool and just be yourself. You can also follow a few steps to make sure that she sees yourself at your best.

1. Care about your appearance. Dress in clean, unwrinkled clothes, keep up to date on haircuts and don't leave the house if you are in desperate need of a shave. Impressions start upon first sight and you don't want to work harder to get past a bad first impression. You don't have to be Mr. GQ, but you do need to be well groomed and show that you take pride in your appearance.

2. Give good nonverbal signals. Portray confidence by maintaining good posture, making eye contact and smiling. Make sure however, that these signals are done at appropriate moments and come off as natural. You do not want them to appear overdone or look too contrived.

3. Master the art of small talk. Small talk can be difficult and intimidating for some. The key is to practice and think about good topics, or conversation starters, before any meetings.

4. Talk about something that is going on around you or about the place that you are meeting in. Ask her about something you know she is interested in or tell her a quick, interesting news bit you heard. Making her laugh will also leave a good impression, but don't try too hard or you will appear desperate.

5. Be yourself. Above all, it is important to be authentic and not overdo it. Girls can tell when you are trying too hard to impress and will not look favorably on it. Giving a true sense of who you are allows you to be comfortable and confident, and it leaves the girl with a good, honest impression of your personality.
