How to Lose the Beer Belly
Beer bellies are hard to live with, but they're even harder to get rid of. Whether you're an overworked professional leading a sedentary lifestyle or a dude who just likes to pound back the brews, having a beer belly can cause you more than just self-image problems--it can also be a serious health risk. 1
Modify your beer intake. Instead of drinking a six-pack of light beer, try drinking one or two higher-quality brews. These are full of flavor and often have high alcohol content, which keeps you buzzed without bulking up.
-
2
Eat five or six small meals throughout the day instead of eating three big ones. This keeps your metabolism revved up from dawn 'til dusk, which will help your body burn off your belly's fat.

3
Make a concerted effort to eat healthier foods. You don't need to go vegan, but try to switch out some of your fatty favorites for lean meats, whole grain breads and tasty fruits and veggies.
-
4
Include intense aerobic exercise in your routine four to five days a week. Walking is acceptable, but the higher you can keep your heart rate during the workout, the more fat your body will burn.
-
5
Strength train to build muscle. Whether it's weightlifting, rock climbing or something as simple as swimming, packing on pounds of muscle jacks up your metabolism and makes your body burn fat around the clock.
-
6
Have more sex. This is a great way to get your heart rate up and shed some pounds. Try different positions, too--they'll keep your muscles guessing and intensify the workout.
-
7
Sign up for a competitive sport. Even if you're older, playing a sport like tennis keeps you in touch with your friends and lets you have fun while working out.
