How to Look Great in a Yearbook Picture

Yearbook pictures will be around forever. They will be a big part of your high school memorabilia, and a way for your classmates to remember you in years to come. Because of this longevity of high school yearbook pictures, you will want to look your best on the day the picture is taken.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Wash your hair and face well so they won't look oily in the picture.

  2. Step 2

    Clean and polish your teeth. Use whitening tools, such as strips or toothpaste, in the weeks before the picture is scheduled.

  3. Step 3

    Look yourself over in the mirror. Try different poses and expressions to see which ones are your best for the photo. Practice the pose and expression and use them on picture day.

  4. Step 4

    Practice good posture and sit up straight in the picture.

  5. Step 5

    Trim or cut your hair a week or two before the picture if it needs it.

  6. Step 6

    Choose clothes that will bring out your natural colors and brighten your skin.

  7. Step 7

    Try new makeup looks one to two weeks before the picture. Pick your favorite look for the day of the picture.

  8. Step 8

    Relax, smile without squinting your eyes and look directly into the camera with your head slightly tilted.

Tips & Warnings
  • Listen to the photographer's suggestions for your pose. He knows his business and will make sure you look your best.
  • Don't cut your hair right before the picture. If you don't like it, you don't have many options to fix it.
  • Don't experiment with new hair styles or colors right before the picture.
  • Don't experiment with new makeup looks the day of the picture.
