How to Install iPod Software
There's all kinds of software available to help your computer talk to your iPod. Most of it is conversion software that allows you to change a digital audio or video file to a format that your iPod can read. Some of the software is free, but you must purchase most of it.

Pick your software. If you need to convert video files into MP4 files, the free Jodix video converter is the way to go (see Resources below). If you want to back up your iPod on your computer, there are a few programs that let you copy files from your iPod backward, or you can hack it in disk mode. Review any comments and ask questions about any software you choose on the iLounge or other forums (see Resources below). It's important to make sure that there isn't any spyware or adware attached to the software you want to use. Make sure it's user-friendly and the software actually does what it should.

Download the software from one of the download sites or from Frostwire (see Resources below). Use the installation wizard on your computer to install it. Take note of what files the installation wizard uses to hold your software, so you can find it later.

Run your program and convert files to types that your iPod can read.
