You clean glass without leaving streaks or film residue by choosing the right cleaning solution and the right tools. From glass tabletops to large windows, you'll get good results every time if you employ the right technique.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Bucket
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Squeegee
  • Cloth diapers
  • Chamois clothes

Step1
Fill your bucket about 2/3 of the way full with clean, warm water.
Step2
Squirt a small amount of liquid dish soap into the water and mix gently. You only need a tiny amount of soap to remove the dirt from the glass. If the solution is sudsy, you've added too much.
Step3
Dip a squeegee sponge into the bucket and wring out the excess water. Start at the top left and make swoops from left to right across your glass surface, covering it with soapy water.
Step4
Use the squeegee blade to make repeating swooping patterns to remove the cleaning solution from the glass. Wipe the blade clean with a cloth diaper after each swoop. Knock any water down to the bottom of the window by working from top to bottom.
Step5
Soak up any excess water that remains on the window with a clean, dry chamois cloth. Remember to soak up water from the window sill as well. The chamois will not leave streaks or fuzz on your window.

Tips & Warnings

  • When cleaning a glass table top, lay a few chamois cloths on the floor to catch the water as you clean the glass. The chamois will soak up the water and protect your floor.
