Things You'll Need:
- BMX bike with front axel pegs
-
Step 1
Find the BMX bike's Hang 5 balance point. Get on the bike and move it next to a curb. Place your foot that is closest to the curb on top of the curb. Place your other foot on the front axel peg. Lift the bike's back tire into the air as you keep your foot flat on the curb. Sit on the bike's seat and apply the front break. Slowly move your foot from the curb to the pedal. Practice balancing in this Hang 5 position while the bike is stationary.
-
Step 2
Put the BMX bike in motion. Once you are comfortable with the balance point, move your foot back to the curb while maintaining the BMX Hang 5 position. Push off the curb with your foot to slowly add movement.
-
Step 3
Roll forward. Once you feel comfortable in the BMX Hang 5 position while the bike is in motion, remove your foot from the curb. Place it on the front axel peg and let the bike continue in motion. Keep your hands on the front breaks while you do the trick.

on 3/20/2009 Hang-5 (alternate how-to)Before you start you want to be on a flat surface. A tennis court, parking lot or sidewalk. It's a bit easier if you have a lot of P.S.I. in your tire when youre first going to learn the hang-5. It reduces rolling resistance.1.You'll put what ever foot is more comfortable on the front peg. You will then push your bars forward (dont do a heavy lean forward) bringing your seat to your butt. All the while keeping your weight evenly distributed between three spots your foot, arms
