How to Upload a Video to Google Video

After watching other people's video clips on Google you want to upload your own videos to show off your cinematography skills. And of course you want to show off your children and grandchildren. Here are the basic steps to upload a video onto Google Video.

      Record a video clip. Try to keep it under 100 MBs in size. Save the video clip in .avi, .mpeg, Real, Quick Time or Windows Media Player format. If you have a choice, .mpeg format is the best.

      Open Google Video on your browser. From google.com, select "More" from the selection list across the top of the page. Choose "Video" from the drop down menu. Sign into your Google Video account with your Gmail address. If you don't have a Gmail address, sign up for a free one.

      Select the "Upload Video" button. It's in the upper right side of the screen. Locate the video file you wish to upload on your computer. Click the "Browse" button to find the appropriate video file. Click "Open" once you find the file.

      Give your video a title in the form on the screen. Next, write a brief description of the story in the video. Tell a little bit about the story's location as well as the date.

      Pick a genre for your video from the drop down menu. Also, select a language. Choose whether you want the video available for everyone to view or for private access by clicking on the appropriate radio button.

      Read the terms and conditions set down by Google Video. Be sure to not upload anything that might be copyrighted material. Check the box that says you have read and agree to the terms and conditions. Click the "Upload Video" button.

      Allow some time for the video to upload. Once it uploads, check the video to make sure it is playing properly. Then let your friends and family know about your video.
