How to Get ImageMagick to Work With Gallery Remote

ImageMagick is photo editing software used to edit photos for the Internet. Gallery Remote is a Java-based image uploading software used for uploading images into an online Gallery. ImageMagick and Gallery Remote work together to create great images for the Internet. If ImageMagick is not installed or not working properly, Gallery Remote gives you errors when uploading photos.

Instructions

1. Uninstall the current version of ImageMagick from the computer. Click on the Start Menu at the bottom left side of your screen. Select "Control Panel" and choose "Add and Remove Programs." Scroll down the list and click on "ImageMagick." Select the "Uninstall" button and then select "Yes" in the dialogue box.

2. Download ImageMagick version 5.5.7-Q16-windows-static from the ImageMagick website. Click "Save" and select "Open."

3. Install the program to the computer. When you click on "Open" the installation begins. Click the "Next" button to continue and select "Finished" when the install is complete.

4. Click on "My Computer" and go to Program Files. Find ImageMagick in the files. The folder that holds ImageMagick needs to be named "ImageMagick." If it is not, right-click the program and select "Rename." Type in the new name for the folder.

5. Find the Gallery Remote folder in the Program Files in the same manner you located the ImageMagick folder in Step 4. Open the "im.properties" file. This file is editable in the Notepad program.

6. Locate "im.convertPath" in the properties file and change it to "im.convertPath=C:\\Progra~1\\ImageMagick\\convert.exe." Click on "File" and select "Save" from the drop-down menu.

7. Open Gallery Remove. You are now ready to upload images.
