Earth mages may be the most unlikely characters you'll see in Crossroads of the Elements. The air elemental yields natural mages and the earth element provides superlative fighters. Those two character types are the most likely to win the game, but an earth mage receives unique abilities and is lots of fun to play.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Check which attack 'spells' are in your inventory. Hammer is the basic earth attack spell, followed by smash at level 10 and pulverize at level 21.
Step2
Scavenge for items to sell in the neutral realm or low- to mid-level areas of the earth realm. Sell them in town and use the coins to buy a tunic to "wear." Also buy cyan potions to replenish your spell points and white or pink potions to replenish hit points.
Step3
Select opponents by reading the "Monsters to attack by Realm and Level" section of the player guide. Fight them using your attack spells. The syntax is "cast " or "cast hammer brigand" for example.
Step4
Upgrade your armor every five levels according to the "Armors wearable by level" section of the player guide.
Step5
Keep fighting until you reach level 30. Explore your new abilities at each level and be creative to get the most out of your earth mage.

Tips & Warnings

  • As you level up drink more expensive blue-shaded potions to replenish more spell points. The more expensive reddish potions will provide better physical healing.
  • Many spells in the earth mage arsenal cancel out the air mage's supreme abilities. Use the seewind spell to see through an air mage's invisibility. Use the mine spell to steal spell components from an air mage so they cannot befuddle you.
  • The leprosy spell, which drains physical levels, is the bane of earth fighters. As an earth mage you are immune to this, but you should beware the befuddle spell cast by high level air monsters and characters because it will affect you.
  • Earth characters take double damage in air, their opposite realm.
