1
Put a little bend in the end of the wire that you will begin with. Wrap the wire around in circles several times making it three-dimensional. Keep in mind that the lizard's head is oblong. Include the eyes positioned on top of his head by creating two smaller circles.
-
2
Use your pliers to bend the eyes to the outside of the lizard's head. Allow wire for the lizard's neck. If the lizards head is three inches long then allow three inches for the neck and bend the wire at the end of the neck to begin his shoulders.
-
3
Bend the wire again for his shoulder using the same amount of wire used for his neck and bend again for his legs, which will be about twice the size of his head size. To create his long lizard toes pinch the wire together with your needle nose pliers creating four toes in the front and one in the back.
-
4
Wrap the lizard foot twisting the wire around his leg and come down creating the next leg and foot. Continue with this process until you have completed all four legs and feet.
-
5
Make the lizards tail the length of his entire body and fold the wire down in a v shape squishing the tail with your pliers. Hold the lizard by his tail and with the wire in your other hand twist the lizard as you wrap the wire around his tail giving it strength. As you move up the tail to his body make the loops larger until you reach his body and wrap once more above his rear legs to secure.
-
6
Create spikes on your lizards back by using your flat pliers. Bend about every inch or so creating the spike affect. When you reach the lizards neck, twist the wire around the neck to secure his spikes and twist the wire up and down his neck.
-
7
Finish your lizard by providing him with bulk. Create a figure eight at the shoulders from one shoulder to the other and loop your way down to the hip area wrapping around the body once more. Create the same figure eight from one rear leg to the other. Wrap the wire in and out of the spikes on the lizard to create a fuller looking lizard. Wrap the wire around the lizard and under the arms in several different directions to give him strength.
