Warm weather is a great time to be outside, and there isn't anything much more relaxing than hanging out in a gazebo in your garden. If you're creative and have a background in metal fabrication, you can even build the gazebo yourself.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 metal rods
  • Welding torch and safety equipment
  • Metal for fabrication design
  • Tarp

    Assemble a Premade Metal Gazebo

  1. Step 1

Choose and buy a gazebo from a local home and garden store.

  2. Step 2

Remove the gazebo from the packaging.

  3. Step 3

Assemble the metal gazebo by following the enclosed instructions. Most come with Allen wrenches or other tools.

  4. Fabricate a Metal Gazebo

  5. Step 1

Design your gazebo pattern. For the roof, you need four rods of equal length and four rods of equal length that are longer than the first set of four.

  6. Step 2

Weld the shorter rods together into a square, and weld the longer rods into the corners of the square and all together at a point.

  7. Step 3

Hold the roof up with the last four rods and weld them together along with the eight support rods at an angle between the roof and the legs holding it up.

  8. Step 4

Add any fabricated metal designs that you've put together for your gazebo. Sling a tarp over the top, and fasten the corners of the tarp to the corners of the roof. Then fasten the edges of the tarp to the sides of the square.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some retailers only carry gazebos during the spring and summer. If you want to buy one during other times of the year, look at an online retailer website, such as Target's or Home Depot's.
