Celebrities often reinvent their image by changing hairstyles. Nicole Richie, the adopted daughter of American singer and songwriter Lionel Richie, is no exception. Nicole has sported a variety of styles, from braids to extensions, and all in a color shade of orange-blond. If your hair is short or long, wavy or straight, there's a Nicole hairstyle for you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set a realistic budget for a cut or style. Pick a style that matches your daily routine, whether it includes business meetings or dropping your child off at school and running errands.

  2. Step 2

Grow your bangs long. Part them in the middle or to the side to frame your face, especially if you have an oval-shaped face like Nicole's. Sweep them over your eye to imitate Nicole's sexy, mysterious look.

  3. Step 3

Ask your hairdresser specifically for a cut called the "deconstructed chignon with a deep side part." This follows the general shape of Nicole's hair.

  4. Step 4

Condition your hair in the shower with a volumizing hair conditioner or apply a leave-in volumizing gel while hanging your head upside down on a regular basis. Blow-dry your hair according to the side part.

  5. Step 5

Smooth hair with a large round brush whether you're leaving your hair down or pulling it back into a ponytail. Spray some finishing hairspray to finalize hairdo.

  6. Step 6

Wear a range of trendy styles. Consult with your hair stylist about the new hairstyles coming into fashion. Stay ahead of the masses; Nicole is a trend-setter and you must adopt this type of attitude when it comes to hair styles.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must be bold and confident to wear hair styles that are not yet considered "in" by the masses. If you wait until everyone else has the cut or color, you're too late.
