You can make your own laundry soap for a fraction of what you pay in stores. It works VERY WELL in cleaning and it is easy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 Bar Fels Naptha Laundry Soap
  • 1/2 C laundry soda
  • 1/2 C 20 Mule Team Borax
  • Slaw Grater
  • Large Pan to cook it in
  • 5 gallon bucket with lid
Step1
Grate the bar of Fels Naptha into the pan you plan to cook it in.
Step2
Cover with hot water and simmer. Stir with a spoon with holes so that you can see when you have no more soap chunks.
Step3
Have a gallon of hot water ready right there beside you. Add the soda and borax and stir as you add the hot water. If you don't do this, the pot will bubble over and it will be TERRIBLE.
Cook for about another 5 minutes to be sure it is blended well.
Step4
Pour this mixture in your bucket and fill up to about three inches below the rim with hot water.
Let sit 24 hrs before use for best results.
Use about 2 cups for extra large loads, 1 1/2 C for large and 1 cup for front loader.
