  • 1 1 / 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. shortening
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

      Bring 2 cups of water, the berries and sugar to a boil.

      Measure the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Add the shortening, then stir in the milk until the mix is consistent.

      Drop spoonfuls of the mix into the boiling berries. Cover the pot and cook for 10 minutes or until the dumplings are fluffy.
