This stitch requires a knowledge of how to do a knit and a purl stitch and creates a beautiful arrow-like textured look to any piece with only a little bit of effort.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • yarn
  • knitting needles

Step1
Choose the yarn you want to work with and needles that match the weight of your yarn (see yarn packaging for needle size suggestions).
Step2
Cast on your stitches in multiples of 8 plus 1 in your preferred method of casting on (example: 8 x 4 = 32 + 1 = 33 stitches).
Step3
Row 1: (RS) K2, P2, K1, P2, *K3, P2, K1, P2, rep from * to last 2 stitches, K2Row 2: P3, K1, P1, K1, *P5, K1, P1, K1, rep from * to last 3 stitches, P3Row 3: K1, *P1, K5, P1, K1, rep from * to endRow 4: P1, *K2, P3, K2, P1, rep from * to end.
Step4
Repeat these 4 rows until your piece reaches the desired length.
Step5
Bind off, preferably using the basic bind-off.
