How to Swim With Dolphins in Tenerife

Many people dream of swimming with dolphins, and a place like Tenerife--teeming with wild dolphins--seems like the perfect place to make such a dream reality. The only problem is that Tenerife, along with the other Canary Islands, has made swimming with wild dolphins illegal. So if you find yourself in Tenerife and want to swim with dolphins what are your options? Your best bet would be to swim with dolphins at the Aqualand water park. This article will give you some ideas about how to make it happen.

Things You'll Need

  • Telephone access
  • Money

Find a telephone and call Aqualand--a water park with a very large dolphinarium--at +34 922 715266.

Ask to speak to a dolphin trainer.

Politely explain your dream of swimming with dolphins and, very nicely, ask the trainer if there would be any way you could swim with the dolphins at the park.

Mention that you are willing to pay them for their time spent with you and the dolphins.

If you are refused call again the next day and ask again--sometimes persistence can pay off.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you try to swim with dolphins in the wild, be aware that at the very least, you can be charged with a fine.
