Instructions

    • 1

Seat everyone around the campfire. Get everyone comfortable with s'mores, drinks and other goodies. Turn off all lights around you; there should only be the light from the campfire.

    • 2

Sit down with a flashlight. Turn the flashlight on and place it a couple of inches below your chin so that your face is illuminated.

    • 3

Begin your story when you have everyone's full attention. Start the tale with a strange fact, ironic notion or other peculiar item to get your guests thinking right away. Speak in a slow, creepy tone.

    • 4

Continue your story in a slow, creepy manner. Take time for some pauses or questions from your attentive listeners. At the final "big" shocker moment of your story take a long pause then all of a sudden turn off the flashlight and yell the ending or make whatever scary sound your story requires. If you have a friend hiding out nearby, have them jump out and scare the listeners.

    • 5

Turn the flashlight back on and give everyone a minute to recover from their scare. Pass the flashlight to the next person and begin all over again with a new haunting tale.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be aware of the crowd around you. Don't bring small children to tears from fear.
