How to Use Solid Shampoo
-
1
Wet your hair in the shower, making sure to soak the hair from the roots to the tips. If you use products in your hair, you may want to rub the hair a bit under running water to get rid of some of the excess product before applying the shampoo.
-
2
Run the solid shampoo bar through your hair in about 4 to 5 swipes. You really don't need a lot because these solid bars are fairly potent. If the solid shampoo you are using has large chunks of ingredients in it, you might want to rub the shampoo between your hands and apply the lather to your hair to avoid the bar breaking apart.

3
Replace the bar in a tin or other safe spot out of the shower spray to ensure the shampoo won't melt more than necessary.
-
4
Lather the shampoo into your hair, rubbing around the roots and then out toward the ends. Again, if you use products in your hair, you may need to perform a bit more of the scrubbing action to get all the product out before rinsing it away.
-
5
Rinse the shampoo from your hair. Test to make sure all shampoo is out of hair by pinching a small section close to the roots and gently pulling along the shaft. If it 'squeaks', the hair is clean. If it still feels oily near the scalp, you should reapply the shampoo bar to the roots and scrub only the roots, then rinse again.

Tips & Warnings
Some solid shampoos can double as a body wash and a solid shampoo. This makes a great product to use for travel.
Store shampoo in a cool, dry place between uses. This allows the bar to dry out and not melt so quickly.
Don't leave the solid shampoo sitting in a puddle of water or where the shower spray will hit it. This will cause your shampoo to melt and not last as long.
As with any personal care product, make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients in the shampoo bar before using it.
