Pugs are loaded with Wrinkles!

A Pug's face is full of wrinkles and deep crevices. Sometimes food, dirt and other foreign particles can get caught in between the grooves of the skin causing foul odors and often leading to infection. Keeping this area clean will lead to optimal Pug health and a fresher smelling pet.

Instructions

    • 1
Make it comfortable for the both of you.

Find a comfortable position for both you and your Pug.

    • 2
Washcloths are heavy enough to get the job done.

Take a washcloth and run it thoroughly under very warm water.

    • 3

Ring out the washcloth so it's not sopping wet.

    • 4

Take the washcloth and add a nickel-sized amount of baby shampoo until you create a slight lather.

    • 5

Starting around the nose, gently pull away the Pug's skin and thoroughly scrape out any debris or muck that may be lurking in the crevices.

    • 6

Use a second washcloth, if needed.

    • 7

When you're finished, take a clean wet washcloth and repeat step 5.

    • 8
      Gently dry your Pug's face.

Use a small towel or dry washcloth to completely dry the entire face area, including the skin crevices.

    • 9
      Repeat for Optimal Healthy Skin.

Repeat these steps once a week.

    • 10

Everyday, use mild baby wipes to keep your Pug's face fresh and clean in between cleanings.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use mild baby shampoo or baby soap to wash your Pug's face, as their skin is highly sensitive.

  • Have several washcloths available.

  • Cradle your Pug while you wash their face to keep them calm.

  • If you notice a strong smelling foul odor from your Pug's face, this could be a sign of infection and immediate veterinary care is required.

  • Never douse your Pug's face with water. Use a washcloth or towel to clean the area.

  • Never leave your Pug alone in a body of water, or they could drown.

  • Keep all soap and sharp objects away from your Pug's eyes.
