With sandy beaches, bike paths and New England charm, Cape Cod is a great place to vacation with the family. Although Cape Cod is often thought of as a romantic, relaxing destination, Cape Cod provides lots of family friendly opportunities for families to have fun with the kids.   1. Step 1

    Check out the beaches! Cape Cod is surrounded by lovely beaches and offers both a gentle bay side and a wavy surfside. When enjoying Cape Cod with the kids, opt for a beach that has a bathroom, snack bar and lifeguard on duty.

  2. Step 2

    Take a boat ride. From whale watching to seal watching to deep sea fishing charters, there is boat riding fun for everyone!

  3. Step 3

    Ride a bike. Cape Cod is lined with beautiful bike paths. There are many places to rent bikes for adults and kids as well as tandem bikes and trailers to accommodate younger children while biking on Cape Cod.

  4. Step 4

    Visit a children's theater. Children's theater is very popular on Cape Cod. Cape Cod is full of theaters that host family friendly shows in a kid friendly environment.

  5. Step 5

    Look for the lighthouses. The Cape is home to several lighthouses and some even offer tours that allow you to climb inside and explore!

  6. Step 6

    Visit the Islands. A short ferry ride from Hyannis or Falmouth can take you to one of the two beautiful islands of Cape Cod. A day trip to Nantucket Island and Martha's Vineyard is an ideal outing for the entire family.
