Improv guessing games are the most enjoyable to the audience. Besides being funny, the games are quite interactive between the audience and the players. The Good Cop, Bad Cop improv game is another guessing game where one player has to guess three different things suggested by the audience. Think outside the box to come up with fun clues for the suspect to guess what the audience suggested.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • One player to be the host
  • One player to be the suspect
  • One player to be the good cop
  • One player to be the bad cop
  • One chair

The Host's Job

Step1
Direct the suspect to leave the staging area so that he or she cannot hear anything until they are called back onto the stage.
Step2
Explain the game to the audience.
Step3
Solicit a celebrity, object and non-geographical location. These items are the victim, weapon and location of the murder that the suspect committed.
Step4
Call the suspect back to the staging area.
Step5
When the suspect thinks he or she knows what the object is, he or she states, "I confess! I killed (celebrity) with a (object) in a (non-geographical location)!" This ends the scene.

The Performance

Step1
Direct the suspect to sit in the chair. Establish who is the good cop and who is the bad cop through actions toward the suspect.
Step2
Ask questions and make statements to give hints about the celebrity to the suspect. These questions and statements should infer that the celebrity was a murder victim.
Step3
Ask throughout the section if the suspect would like to identify the victim. When the suspect thinks he or she knows who the celebrity is, he or she states, "Maybe I know who you are talking about." This is the sign to the other two players that he or she is ready to move on to the object.
Step4
Ask throughout the section if the suspect would like to identify the murder weapon. Ask questions and make statements to give hints about the object to the suspect. These questions and statements should infer that the object was the murder weapon.
Step5
When the suspect thinks he or she knows what the object is, he or she states, "Maybe I know what you are talking about." This is the sign to the other two players that he or she is ready to move on to the non-geographic location.
Step6
Ask questions and make statements to give hints about the non-geographic location to the suspect. These questions and statements should infer that the non-geographic location was the scene of the murder.
Step7
End the game with the suspects confession. When the suspect thinks he or she knows what the object is, he or she states, "I confess! The suspect then states who she killed, with what object and states the location.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use famous quotes, movie titles and such in your clues about the celebrity
  • Give hints about the object using different ways in which the object can be used
  • Do not use the name of the celebrity, object or non-geographical location in your clues
