How to Use Aspirin to Ease Razor Burn

Razor burn is a fact of life for most of us. Getting rid of unwanted hair can leave you with unwanted bumps in its stead. A simple home remedy, however, can keep those red bumps at bay.

How to Use Aspirin to Ease Razor Burn

Depending on the size of the affected area, crush the appropriate number of aspirin tablets. One crushed tablet will work to ease discomfort in about a square inch of skin.

Dampen the crushed pills with warm water. Use enough water to make a spreadable paste.

Spread the paste on the affected area. Let it stay on the skin for a couple of minutes. Then wipe the paste away with a washcloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use this technique if you are allergic to aspirin
  • Check with your doctor if you are taking any other medications
  • Discontinue the treatment immediately if symptoms appear or get worse
  • Never apply aspirin to the oral cavity as this may cause a chemical burn
