Jeans are one of the most frequently worn clothing items, yet one of the most difficult to fit. Fortunately, you can design your own jeans online and order them in just the style you want and the size you need. Custom jeans can be more expensive than off-the-rack jeans, but if you have a hard time finding jeans that fit, the extra effort and expense can be worth it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Jeans style ideas
  • Soft measuring tape
  1. Step 1

Go to a custom jeans design website such as mejeans.com.

  2. Step 2

Choose a basic style of jeans, such as slim, relaxed or classic fit.

  3. Step 3

Select a leg style, such as straight, boot cut, tapered or flare.

  4. Step 4

Select a fabric color and wash. Although most jeans are blue, they also come in black, white, gray and red, as well as a huge variety of blue shades and washes.

  5. Step 5

Select a waist style, such as low-rise or at waist, and a waistband style. You may also be able to choose the number of belt loops.

  6. Step 6

Select a fly style, such as a zipper, concealed buttons, buttons that show or laces.

  7. Step 7

Select a color for the stitching, if the site gives you that option. Most jeans use brown stitching, but you may want blue stitching to make it show less, or a custom color to make it stand out.

  8. Step 8

Choose the style and number of pockets you want, including the front pockets, back pockets and coin pocket. You may also be able to choose pocket flaps.

  9. Step 9

Select a style and color for the metal buttons and rivets.

  10. Step 10

Choose any optional features you want, such as tins or frayed edges, cuffs or side slits, or stain protection. Some optional features may cost extra.

  11. Step 11

Measure the fullest part of your hips, waist and thighs, over the undergarments you plan to wear with the jeans. The measuring tape should be snug but comfortable. Measure the distance from your waist to your hips, the distance from the front of your waist to the back of your waist, your inseam and any other areas required. Be sure to follow any specific measuring guidelines on the custom jeans website.

  12. Step 12

Check your design and measurement details and place your order.

Tips & Warnings
