How to Make Natural Carpet Freshener

Freshen your home with your very own, all-natural, home-made carpet freshener. It’s almost as easy as the stuff you get from the store, but it smells even better and is better for your family and the environment.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 cups baking soda or cornstarch
  • 35 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 30 drops lavender essential oil
  • 25 drops rosewood essential oil
  1. Step 1

    Dump the baking soda into a bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Add the essential oils to the baking soda.

  3. Step 3

    Break up clumps with a large spoon, stirring until well mixed.

  4. Step 4

    Pour the carpet freshener into a shaker to distribute onto the carpet, or just sprinkle it with your fingers.

  5. Step 5

    Allow the carpet freshener to sit on the carpet for 15 minutes before vacuuming.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can substitute your own favorite essential oils for any of the oils in this recipe.
