Step 1
Secure excellent child care for your baby. You won't be productive if you spend your work days worrying about your child. Interview centers, nannies and in-home providers to find the best fit for you.
-
Step 2
Ease into work gradually. Consider working part-time or half days, at first, to ease back into your routine.
-
Step 3
Schedule meetings with key co-workers to get up to speed on projects that you missed while you were out with your baby.
-
Step 4
Give yourself a few weeks to re-acquaint yourself with your projects and clients. Send out updates to key contacts telling them you have returned from maternity leave and look forward to working with them on upcoming projects.
-
Step 5
Cut yourself some slack. It will take a while for you to get adjusted to your work routine as well to having a new baby at home.
