Traditionally, body wraps are performed by professionals in spas and salons. They do, however, cost a lot of money. The purpose of a body wrap is to rid the skin and body of harmful toxins and water retention. The result is healthier skin, with a loss of inches. Many people use body wraps before important events to look their best. This does come with a price. Did you know that you can make your own body wrap at home for a lot less money? Homemade body wraps are extremely easy to make. If you are modest, no one has to see or touch your body but you. Here is a recipe for a simple homemade body wrap to give your skin that healthy glow.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup sea salt
  • 1 cup green clay
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • pot
  • white sheets

    Make a Solution

  1. Step 1

Make a salt water solution by boiling the water in a pot. When the water is boiling, add the sea salt and stir until completely dissolved. It shouldn't take very long for 2 cups of water to boil. Don't leave the pot on the stove for too long because you could lose a lot of water in steam.

  2. Step 2

Add the other ingredients and stir. The mixture will look like thick paste. If you have ever gotten a professional body wrap at a spa, the paste will resemble the appearance and texture used by the professionals.

  3. Step 3

Take a handful and rub the paste all over your body. Rub the paste evenly over your body. Make the layer fairly thick. The legs, stomach, butt, hips, and thighs are areas where the paste is commonly used.

  4. Step 4

Cover your body and the paste with your white sheet. Tightly wrap the sheet around your body. This will apply pressure to help boost the benefits of the body wrap.

  5. Step 5

Lie on your bathroom floor for an hour. You may be a bit messy, so you want to be in an area that is easy to clean if you get paste on the walls or floor. Some people recline in a bathtub. If you feel comfortable, and have enough room, the bathtub is a perfect place.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once you have mastered the basic wrap, you can begin adding essential oils and herbs the next time. These help calm and heal the body even more.
  • Don't eat sugar, fried foods, or drink alcohol during the 2 days following your homemade body wrap.
