The last thing anyone wants is an increased appetite. This is difficult to deal with because if you feel hungry you want to eat. However, following this path for very long will result in significant weight gain. The following tips suggest how to deal with an increased appetite.

Step1
Choose healthy foods. What you eat could be the difference between a slight weight gain and major weight gain. When you have an increased appetite you can choose to eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables or you can choose to eat candy bars and chips. Choosing the first option is the best way to go because it will fill you up, but it won't fill you out.
Step2
Exercise more. When you have an increased appetite, consider exercising more. The best way to battle the extra food intake is with exercise.
Step3
Eat mostly protein. Sometimes when our appetites increase we eat junk food high in sugar and carbohydrates. Focus on eating a lot of protein when you get hungry. This will keep you full longer and it will prevent you from gaining too much weight.
Step4
Talk to your doctor. If you are concerned about your increased appetite, ask your doctor what might be causing it. Some illnesses, such as diabetes, have symptoms of increased appetite so talking to your doctor about your increased appetite is important.
Step5
Keep track of your diet in a food journal, which will help you control what you eat and help you determine if the foods you are eating, such as refined carbs, are playing a role in your increased appetite.
