How to Write a Note on Facebook

Posting a note on your Facebook account is one way to distribute information to all of your friends, or a select group of friends, at once. A note can include a photo and can be sent to any of your lists of friends or individual friends. It is a simple feature to use and can be a beneficial tool for those who have information to distribute to a lot of people all at once.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Web browser and navigate the Facebook homepage (see Resources). Enter your email address and password, and click "Log In."

    • 2

Browse your profile page. Look for the section entitled "Applications." By default this section is on the left side of your profile, adjacent to your profile picture. If you cannot see all of the icons, click the "More" link. The icons are also located underneath your profile picture.

    • 3

Click the icon that looks like a note pad. By default, a list of all the notes your friends have posted will appear.

    • 4

Choose the “Write a New Note” button at the top of the page if you wish to post a note to all of your friends. A new screen will pop up asking you to enter a title and the body of your note.

    • 5

Tag people you mention in your note after you are finished by entering names in the “Tag People in this Note” box that is located on the top right of the pop-up screen.

    • 6

Upload an image to the note by clicking the “Choose File” button to browse for images to upload.

    • 7

Choose who can see the note that you post by picking a user group from the “Who can see this?” option.

    • 8

Choose the “Publish” button to post your creation.

Tips & Warnings

  • By default, everyone will be able to see the note that you post, so use good judgment when deciding who can see your note.
