The Ukulele is a great instrument for musicians of all ages. This instrument is very popular in Hawaiian culture and is easy to play. Most popular traditional Hawaiian songs consist of only 2 to 4 chords. The Bb chord is commonly played in Hawaiian Songs that are in the key of "F". A popular favorite that can be played in F and uses the Bb chord is "Pearly Shells" which was made famous by the late Don Ho. "Pearly Shells" consists of only 4 chords, with the chord sequence for the entire song being F, Bb, C7, F, F7, Bb, F, C7, F. Learn how to play Bb on the Ukulele in just a few easy steps.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    With the right arm over the Ukulele, hold it in the lap with strings facing away from the body.

  2. Step 2

    Hold the neck of the Ukulele near the string spacer between the left thumb and index finger.

  3. Step 3

    Place the left index finger between the string spacer and first fret. Hold down the "E" and "A" strings, which are the bottom two strings.

  4. Step 4

    Put the middle finger on the "C" string between the first and second fret.

  5. Step 5
     

    Move the ring finger to the "G" or top string and hold it down between the second and third fret. Hold all assigned strings down firmly and strum all the strings with the right hand near the center of the Ukulele body.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Ukulele strings are G, C, E and A from top to bottom.
  • Frets are metal strips located on the neck of the Ukulele.
  • Keep the fingers on the assigned strings only to ensure the proper sound of the chord.
