1
Get a large sheet of cardboard or poster board and draw a big circle on it. If you are afraid you can't draw a circle well enough, you can use an object in your house to help. Look for a large bowl that you might serve food in at a party. Turn the bowl upside down on the paper and draw around it with your pencil. This will give you a perfect circle.

2
Pick a spot on the circle to cut. You want to make a straight line cut from the edge to the center. It doesn't matter where you do it as long as it is straight and goes no farther than the center of the circle.

3
Pick up your circle and overlap it's edges. You want the hat to fit your head you you may have to try it on to see just how much you have to overlap the edges. If you want your hat extra big you can just go ahead and tape the hat shut. The tape should go on both the inside and outside of the hat so that is stays securely shut.

4
Begin painting your hat. Use whatever color paints you like to paint your hat. You can paint it all one color or paint designs on it. You can paint it all one color and let it dry and then paint designs on top of that. Have fun and be creative.

5
Add glitter. To make your hat sparkle draw where you want your glitter to go with a line of glue. Then sprinkle the glitter on the glue. Carefully shake the excess glitter off over a trash can.
