When a group of people comes together for the first time, it is not always easy to get everyone to meet one another. This is why ice breaker games are such a great tool to introduce people to one another. The candy ice breaker game is an excellent game for younger kids in situations such as the first day of school and even at a birthday party where not everyone knows each other. Just make sure that you have enough candy to go around!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A group of at least 8 people
  • A host to run the game
  • A bag of small candies, such as Skittles or M&Ms
  1. Step 1

All of the players and the host sit in a circle.

  2. Step 2

The host passes around a bag of candy and encourages everyone to take at least one piece of candy, but welcomes them to take more than that.

  3. Step 3

The host instructs the players not to eat their candy until they are told that they are allowed.

  4. Step 4

Starting to the host's left, each player says one fact about him or herself for each piece of candy that they took from the bag.

  5. Step 5

The player may eat the candy after they state their facts.

  6. Step 6

The game ends when the player to the host's right finishes saying all of their facts.

  7. Step 7

The host can participate by using the remainder of the bag of candies as the number of facts he or she has to give. If there are too many candies left, the host may select as many as he or she would like.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to have enough candy for everyone in the circle.
  • Emphasize that players cannot eat the candy until they are told that they can.
  • Pass the candies around in a bowl so that the players can see what is left.
  • Do not use large candies.
  • Do not use individually wrapped candies.
