1. Make note of what kinds of colors or patterns and snacks your friend liked to keep at his/her old home. For example, perhaps he/she is really into Asian inspired art and furniture and likes to unwind with a cup of Earl Gray.

2. Purchase an attractive, but useful container in which to put the gift. If your friend is really into wine tasting for example, purchase a nice wine/champagne bucket. Or, if your friend is an avid magazine reader, buy a nice magazine organizer that fits the decor of his/her new home.

3. Fill the container with treats you know your friend will enjoy! A bottle of wine or champagne is nice, but your friend will probably get quite a few of those.
