The ukulele is made in many different sizes. The tenor ukulele is one of the largest in the ukulele family. It has a lower tone and is normally played by males to accompany their low voices. However, it is also played by women and young adults. Although the tenor ukulele is made with four, six and eight strings, the most commonly played is the four-string. The Bm chord is commonly used while playing in the keys of A and D. Learn how to play a Bm chord on the ukulele in just a steps.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Hold the body of the ukulele with the right arm and place it in your lap.

  2. Step 2

    Put the neck of the ukulele in your left hand between the left thumb and index finger, near the "nut" or string spacer.

  3. Step 3

    Move the index finger, between the first and second fret, and hold down all four strings.

  4. Step 4

    Hold down the G or top string between the third and fourth fret with the ring finger.

  5. Step 5

    Hold all the assigned strings down firmly, and strum with the right hand. When strumming, keep the right hand near the center of the body of the ukulele.

Tips & Warnings
  • The ukulele strings from top to bottom are G, C, E and A.
  • It is important to keep all assigned fingers between the frets to have a clear, uninterrupted sound.
