Instructions

    • 1

Buy a motorized skateboard kit from you local skate shop. The kit would have an engine, pulleys for both the engine and the back wheels and a belt to connect the two. You have your kit with you and it is exciting, as in a few hours you will be riding around on your new motorized skateboard.

    • 2

Get all the things together in one place as you do not want to run around when you are working. Remove the back wheels of your skateboard and clean up the area around it. Make sure that everything seems to be ready for your build to start.

    • 3

The engine has to be in a position that the pulley is directly over the pulley from your back wheels. Measure two or three times just to make sure before you drill. Take your skateboard and drill holes in the back to mount your new engine. Make sure they do not hinder the holes from your back wheels.

    • 4

Mount your new engine on the holes and attach it with the nuts and bolts. So now your new engine is ready to go. Take the new back wheels which have the belt pulley on them and put them on the skateboard. Keep the nuts loose because you want the belt to go in first.

    • 5

Take the belt and attach it to the engine side of the pulley first, as that is the fixed one. If required you can loosen it too. Then put the belt in on the pulley attached to your rear wheels. Once it is in, tighten all screws to keep everything in its place.

    • 6

Tightening all bolts should do the job, but if the belt is still loose, take out the rear wheels and put spacing washers between the board and the wheels. This should take out the slack in the belt and give you a good fit.

    • 7

Attach the accelerator wire to the engine and to the knob on the other side, now your new skateboard is ready for your test.

    • 8

Start your engine and hold on to the accelerator wire. When you raise the engine it should propel you forward. Now you have your new motorized skateboard.
