There are a number of techniques for making rose beads, however, the method below is easy to follow and doesn't take as long to complete as the cooking methods. The rose beads turn out lovely and can be re-scented with rose oil whenever desired.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • fresh rose petals
  • mortar and pestle
  • rose oil
  • wax paper
  • metal pin
  1. Step 1

Gather fragrant red rose petals on a dry morning, after the dew has left.

  2. Step 2

    Mash petals in mortar.

  3. Step 3

Spread mash on wax paper and allow to partially dry for one to two days.

  4. Step 4

Put partially dried mash back into mortar and grind the petals again, adding water a few drops at a time until the petals form a thick paste.

  5. Step 5

Form mash into round beads by first dipping fingers into rose oil. Use a needle to make a hole in each bead.

  6. Step 6

Place each bead onto wax paper and allow to dry completely.

  7. Step 7

Use strong beading thread or fishing line to make a bracelet or necklace.
