A business statement is written to define a company's reason for existence. It should clearly lay out what your business intends to do and how it will perform better than its competition. This statement should serve as a "call to action" to get things done and elaborate on ways that tasks will be executed; providing a strategic direction and shaping your company's future goals. Below are key steps in creating a business statement.

Explain who you are. Write about the spark that ignited your decision to start a business. Describe the nature of your products and services.

  2. Step 2

Think about your target customers along with the level of services and/or products you plan to provide. Tell what you can do for them that will enrich their lives and contribute to their success--now and in the future. Don't be vague; define what makes your service so extraordinary.
