How to Deal With TMJ and Wearing Braces

      Deep breathing exercises can help reduce stress and strain on your jaw. Begin by finding a quiet place to sit or lay down. Deep breathing occurs when you inhale and exhale from your diaphragm instead of your chest. Your diaphragm is located between your abs and chest. Place your hand gently between your chest and abs to make sure you're breathing properly. Take slow, deep breaths for at least five minutes, two or three times a day.
