Making a break in the skin using 3-D makeup is simple and quick to do. In order to make it seem as though a person was in a car accident or in a fight, creating small cuts and blending them using various shades of makeup will make the events more realistic. You can use makeup purchased through a special effects makeup manufacturer to create realistic breaks in the skin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Face putty
  • Putty knife
  • Makeup
  1. Step 1

Apply putty to the nose or other areas on the face where you want to create breaks. Blend putty with your fingers so it looks natural.

  2. Step 2

Use a putty knife or thin makeup brush to create a small slit in the putty. Lift up the excess putty to create a raised effect.

  3. Step 3

Use a dark shade of makeup (red or black) and apply it using a small makeup brush inside the break you've created. Blend the makeup with your fingers so it appears as realistic as possible.

  4. Step 4

Use a shade that's a little lighter on the outside fold of the break. This will create a shadowing effect and mimic bruising.

  5. Step 5

Set the break using translucent powder so the makeup will not shift.
