How to Find Paid Blogging Jobs

Blogging is a hobby for some, but it can also be a lucrative paid gig. With so many companies starting blogs to keep customers informed, there are new paid blogging jobs opening all the time. Finding them before they are filled, however, can be a challenge.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the About Weblogs section of About.com. The site not only lists open blogging jobs, it provides a great deal of tips about how to get the most out of blog promotion.

    • 2

Go to one of the larger sites that compile blogging jobs. ProBlogger is one such site, compiling open positions regularly. Going to sites that compile many different types of freelance writing jobs is not a good idea as there will be many entries to wade through to find the blogging jobs. They may also be mislabeled as article writing or have another label that causes you to overlook the ones you need.

    • 3

Look through mainstream job sites and search for blogging jobs. Sites like Monster and Career Builder sometimes carry paid blogging jobs. Because these sites require the employer to pay for the listing, the blogging jobs they list are often corporate blogging jobs that are high paying.

    • 4

Apply to blogging networks that hire paid bloggers. Sites like B5 Media hire bloggers to take over existing blogs on the site. They will have lists of available blogs that need new bloggers to take them over. Most of these will require several writing samples on the same topic as the blog you apply for.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep your own blog if you want to get a paid blogging job. You have to be able to demonstrate that you know how to run a blog and can keep one updated regularly.
