Decide what level of observance you will follow with respect to dishes. For example, will you use glass dishes for both meat and dairy? Do you need separate Passover dishes and cookware? Answering these questions will help you determine how many sets of dinnerware, flatware, and cookware you need.

Make sure you can tell the difference between meat and dairy sets. For example, you may choose to use different colors (red for meat and blue for dairy is a popular choice) or get two different kids of cookware so you can differentiate between them.

Recognize your guests' limitations. Since you will need so many sets of everything, you probably shouldn't register for all of the most expensive of everything, unless you have a large number of guests who can afford such items. You can also limit the burden on your guests by registering for separate pieces rather than full settings of dinnerware, for example.

Consider registering at a Judaica store, particularly if you can find one that sells items like Shabbat-friendly water heaters, etc. If not, you can buy these items on your own with money you receive.
