Step 1
Choose the right shade of Mac Sculpt and Shape Powder. Prior to doing any type of contouring you need to make sure you have the correct shade of Mac Sculpt and Shape Powder. Most fair skin tones will use Mac Sculpt and Shape in Bone and Beige. Medium skin tones will use Mac Sculpt and Shape Powder in Sculpt and Accentuate and darker skin tones will use the shade in Lightsweep and Shadester.
-
Step 2
Prep your face. In order to get your face ready for the contouring, you need to cleanse, tone and moisturize. Once your skin regime is complete, apply your foundation, concealer and powder.
-
Step 3
Complete your eye makeup. Do your eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. You always want to do the majority of your makeup before you contour because you don’t want to look too made up. Once everything is done, it’s easier to add it on rather than take it off because it’s too heavy.
-
Step 4
Contour the sides of your nose. With your angled eyeshadow brush, you are going to use the darker colored powder to contour the sides of your nose. On each side of your nostril you have a very soft portion of skin on your nose. It’s halfway from the ball of your nose to the base of each nostril. Using your angled brush and starting at that point, apply the powder in a straight line running up the side of you nose and toward your eyes. You will notice your nose get narrower. Apply it with a light hand and add more as you see fit.
-
Step 5
Highlight the bridge of your nose. Dust your angled brush off and highlight the bridge of your nose. This will give the illusion that your nose is even narrower. Lightly apply the lighter shade from the top your nose to the ball of your nose.
-
Step 6
Blend away any harsh lines. If you notice any harsh lines, blend them away. You don’t want the product to look too obvious. Finish the rest of your makeup and enjoy that newly contoured nose!
